NDA Collegiate Nationals
Competing as a D1A Team at the National Dance Alliance Official Nationals Competition
How does Nationals Work?
During our first semester, we hold tryouts to be a part of our nationals dances. NDA unfortunately only allows 20 dancers on the stage at a time, and our team usually ranges from about 25-30 girls, so we hold team auditions in order to help us choose who will represent Miami Dance on the stage at nationals. However, we have two dances, so it is possible to still be on stage even if you do not participate in both dances. We hold auditions fairly through outside sources as well as our coaches. Our nationals season becomes more intense in the second semester as practices are extended and happen more frequently.
When? Where?
NDA collegiate nationals is held in Daytona Beach, FL alongside NCA (National Cheer Alliance.) The competition usually takes place around the 1st or 2nd week of April. All team members are required to travel and will miss any classes that fall on the duration of our nationals dates. This is a very important event for our team as we have been attending NDA for the past 16 years. It is a great team bonding experience and really shows the value of hard work on this team.
